1. What is FKM?
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering(FKM) was established in June 2001 and our goal is to be an ideal, dynamic and innovative faculty as well as to produce highly competent mechanical engineering graduates who have good moral and ethical values in their respective fields.
2. Where is the campus of FKM?
FKM located at Industry Campus which is located in the industrial area at Ayer Keroh. FKM building can be recognized with its distinctive green colour building.
3. What are the advantages of studying in FKM?
FKM is one of the leader in the teaching and learning approach for technical education especially in the field of mechanical engineering, which makes it different from the other universities.
4. What types of academic programmes are offered at FKM?
As a tertiary engineering education institution, Mechanical Engineering Faculty (FKM) currently offers academic programmes at the first-degree level, master programme by research as well as a diploma programme to train the people in Mechanical Engineering. 5. How to apply for the programme offered by FKM?
For diploma programmes, the SPM holder will have to apply through UPU online application after the SPM result had been released. For bachelor programmes, the matriculation and STPM holder will also need to apply through UPU online for the programmes.
6. How many departments are there at FKM?
There are three departments at FKM. They comprise of Department of Thermal-Fluid, Department of Structure & Material, Department of Design & Innovation, Department of Automotive and Department of Plant & Maintenance.
7. What facilities are provided?
FTK aims to have a campus conducive to learning and living. Among the facilities provided are modern and fully-equipped laboratories, conducive lecture rooms, spacious seminar hall, a dedicated lecture room for collaborative learning and students’ room. All the facilities provided are not only in relation to student capacity and needs but also in teaching and learning requirements.
